Statute

RI St. ยง11-67.1-17

A survivor of trafficking may petition to vacate convictions and seal or expunge records of convictions resulting directly from being a victim of human trafficking. Relief is limited to prostitution and solicitation convictions.

A survivor may use official documentation that the survivor was a victim of human trafficking at the time of the offense to create a presumption that the survivor’s participation in the offense was a direct result of human trafficking, but documentation is not required.
