Freedom Network USA typically opens our membership applications from July – September each year. The application process includes a written application form, interviews with each applicant, a thorough review of value alignment, a feedback period from our existing membership, and a discussion of each applicant during our annual Steering Committee retreat.
In consultation with staff and our Steering Committee members, we made the difficult decision to not accept new members this year. We have had recurring discussions with members about responsible growth and our capacity to support our existing members. After accepting our largest cohort of survivors last year, we set up new systems to reflect our commitment to meaningful survivor engagement. Additionally, FNUSA will undergo some staffing changes this summer that will strain our membership team’s capacity. Given these realities, we made the difficult decision to take this pause.
We know this may be especially disappointing because we only accepted applications from survivors last year. We recognize that this may disappoint those who will have to wait another year. FNUSA is eager to expand the voices and perspectives of our network. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience and recognize that there are many incredibly qualified organizations and individuals that we will not get to meet this year.
This one-year pause will not prohibit organizations and individuals from ever joining membership. We will re-open applications to the public next year. If you are interested in being notified when we re-open applications, please complete this brief interest form to share your contact details with our membership team.
