Training and Technical Assistance
Access to safe and affordable housing is critical for survivors of human trafficking. Affordable housing programs, including transitional and long-term, often have long waitlists and may restrict eligibility based on immigration status, criminal history, rental history, or current income. The housing landscape is complex and can be challenging to navigate.
The Freedom Network Training Institute (FNTI) provides training and resources to OVC Human Trafficking grantees on voluntary, trauma-informed, and survivor-centered housing practices for survivors of human trafficking. This includes providing guidance and support on accessing emergency, transitional, or long-term housing options for survivors of human trafficking. The Housing Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Project provides tailored training, resources, and referrals through our project staff and a wide array of expert consultants, including those with lived experience, who support the creation and delivery of TTA.
